Allow me to walk you through one of the projects i recently worked on.

Heuristic Evaluation

Developed by Rolf Molich and Jakob Nielsen (leaders in the UX industry). A set of 10 key principles were used to identify problems associated with this design.

The heuristic evaluation usually helps me as a UX professional identify and prioritize problems in the interface into Critical, Medium, Low, and Nice to Have.

Scissors

While focused specifically on the digital experience of this project, User research was carried out with the team. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods of understanding our users, i was able to collect data in areas of concern about the website, highlight user pain point and discover areas of opportunity.

Personas

During the researh period for this project, i was able to identify our key players in the use of the website.

The formed personas were a perfect representation of the current and future users. These were then applied to the scenarios created in the userflows below.

One of the key stages in design for me is creating user flows. Here, i can visualize the end to end process of the user. This is the best way to overcome challenging scenarios, especially when working along side of developers.

After the personas were complete, i moved into flushing out scenarios using userflows.

Now that i have all the data collected, personas created and userflows executed, i can now use all these to help inform my decisions in the design. Not only did these steps help me make better calls, it also gave a better understanding of what i was designing.

A low-fidelity wireframe is what i share with major stakeholders, to help form a visual representation of the project and get the converstaion going.

Once the low-fi wireframe was approved by the major stakeholders, the next step was to bring the project to it's higher resolution state for the development team to start grooming and developing.
